Swiss triple podium at the IGSA European Championships 2010 in Insul, Germany
Martin Siegrist defends the European Championship against his Swiss fellows Christoph Batt and Ramón Königshausen. Mischo Erban (CZ/CAN) had his best result of the current season finishing fourth
After a never ending freeride session on Friday, Saturday's schedule was rather hectic. The organisation decided to run the entire race in one day due to bad weather forcasts for Sunday. As a consequence, there was only time for one qualification run which was followed immediately by the head-to-head elimination finals.
Like in Teolo last weekend, Ramón set an new track record (2:29,171) followed by Patrick Switzer (2:29,612) and Martin Siegrist (2:29,828).
Insul is quite technical and requires a lot of footbraking or predrifting for the corners. As a consequence of this quite a few top riders got taken out early. Like Stefan Rüfli who crashed in a corner together with Switzer.
A video recap will follow!
